NEWS AND EVENTS >Fashion Bug partners with Dream Big Disability Awareness Concer
Fashion Bug had the honour of being a part of a very special event on the 1st and and 2nd of March 2013 as we partnered with Qbaa in presenting "An Evening with a Difference" a concert organized to raise funds to enable the differently-abled through the Mother Theresa Foundation. The evening of music featured the X Factor sensation Emmanuel Kelly.
Emmanuel is an Iraqi refugee born with physical deformities as their parents were exposed to chemical warfare during Operation Desert Storm. Emmanuel was found in a shoe-box after being left for dead and was deposited at the Mother Theresa Orphanage in Baghdad. In 1998, Moira Kelly the famed Australian humanitarian worker, discovered Emmanuel and brought him to Australia for medical treatment.
She subsequently adopted Emmanuel and he became Australian citizens.
Emmanuel became an Australian X-Factor star in 2011 when he related his extremely touching story to the X-Factor Australian judges as 1.2 million people around the world watched his performance which ended the series premiere by singing the iconic John Lennon’s song, “Imagine”.
The concert also featured Aria Award-winning and multi platinum selling recording artist, Gary Pinto as well as delightful Natasha Marie and the audience was sensational cheering on the performances and the noble cause.
